We were finally able to celebrate the end of the year together with our annual SPS End of the Year Picnic. Congratulations to our Spring 2021 graduates and to Dr. Ian Lindevald on his retirement. Thank you all for all that you’ve done for SPS and the physics department!
Sigma Pi Sigma Spring 2021 Induction
At our last meeting of the spring semester, our members Riley Dawkins and Dominic Caputa were inducted into Sigma Pi Sigma, the honor society in physics. Your outstanding achievements and service in the physics community does not go unrecognized! Congrats!
All Science Picnic
Our members had tons of fun at the All Science Picnic hosted by the American Chemical Society!
Physics BBQ!
Thanks to all who joined us for a afternoon of food, fun, and some sun!
Congratulations, New Sigma Pi Sigma Members!
The Society of Physics Students is once again proud to announce that four physics students were inducted into Sigma Pi Sigma, our Physics Honor Society in April . Induction into Sigma Pi Sigma is an incredible honor which requires stellar grades and hours of service in the name of physics. Congratulations to Jordan Shroyer, Angelina Partenheimer, Hannah Sechaga, Kevin Barrow, and Brent Koogler!
Net Force
Our IM volleyball team, Net Force, made a valiant effort on the courts this year. Using their detailed understanding of torques and projectile motion, they did their best to get the glory for SPS!
Capture The Calculator!
It’s capture the flag, SPS style. Two daring teams faced off: “The Neutrinos” and “The Anti-Neutrinos.” Needless to say, it resulted in total annihilation (of the calculators, that is…)
